René Steenvoorden, Advisor
Upon graduating with a degree in Business Administration from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, René Steenvoorden first served as a lieutenant in the Royal Dutch Army and then started his business career as IT group manager at Proctor & Gamble in The Netherlands. He then joined McKinsey & Company in Amsterdam as engagement manager for four years before returning to corporate life in 2004 as CIO at the Dutch Utility Essent.
In 2008 René was appointed Director Group ICT and Chief Information Officer at the RABO Bank. From 2012 he was concurrently Chairman of the Friesland Bank Integration, responsible for the transition and integration of the Friesland Bank into the RABO, a process which was successfully completed in 2014. Since 2016 René joined Randstad as Global Chief Digital Officer and CIO.
Rene has acted as Chairman of the CIO Platform in The Netherlands and was member of the National Cyber Security Council, the Electronic Commerce Platform, the IBM Global Customer Advisory Board. Since 2017 René joined the KPMG supervisory board. We are proud to have his attention and input as member of the Van der Laan & Company Advisory Board.
